A Broken Heart

My eyes are wells
That rain many tears.
My mind compells
To close many fears
And open to loving arms.
My bones are weak,
But brings no harm.
My heart breaks
For children I don't know.
How can I cry for those
I have never known?
And in my bones
I acke for those I've never seen.
Lord, dry my eyes,
Give me peace,
And learn to rest... in you.

Teddy Bear Heroes

Deep within the jaws of death

Lie beasts, oh, so mysterious,

They howl high above our heads,

And sail forever beneath our beds,

They frown and squint their beady eyes,

While staring up at cloudless skies,

But open them fearlessly and wide

When night approaches, leaving us no place to hide.

This is their downfall; their desperate destruction,

Yet somehow the reason for their initial production.

But remember! The jaws of death are but a toothy smile,

With hapless intimations, meant to beguile.

Fall they will from above our heads,

Drown from their haunting beneath our beds

When night illuminates their social ills,

And with teddy bear warriors, their bodies kill.

So let this forewarn those who would creep and crawl

Up and down blackly along my walls,

Or let their presence be known to my childish mind,

Throwing fear and doubt upon the blind

For with me lies the power of Rome;

Of fluff and fur and teddy bear heroes,

And my God; my King, who with every breath,

Will blow away every scary shadow and the mysterious.

This is the inspiration for this poem
