Golden leaves drip from skeleton
trees,
The land hardens under a biting
freeze.
Though the world goes black and
bleak
We have each other, warming cheek
to cheek.
Glazed pastures, ice gnaws the
dead earth.
The pale face stares, no sun can
warm this turf.
But in our hearts are pastures
green
And our eyes are stars, where joy
redeems.
