A List in Heaven Holds My Name

A list in heaven holds my name;
Written in blood and sealed by faith,
A cross on earth holds my sin;
But I am not the one pinned.
Counted as but a small loss,
God sent His only son to be nailed to that cross.
He took my place as I shouted die,
His love is so great, how could I deny?!
But deny we did as they dragged Him away,
And as He died, we had nothing to say.
The veil rent, giving us grace,
For Jesus, the perfect lamb had died in our place!
Today, we celebrate not death, but life,
For God has ended man’s sinful plight,
By offering us eternal rest,
Because Jesus died and rose again!
