A Tribute to
the Titanic
They hailed
her immortal,
Though made
of mortal hands.
Her side’s massive
hulk,
Could not be
penetrated.
She cried “I’m
Unsinkable!”
The Titans
of old, defeated:
She defied
their fate;
And boasted
of a better
Life than theirs
in fetters.
She, match
their doom? Unthinkable.
In all her
glorious pride
She set out
for fortune;
But with her
head so high
She stumbled
and she fell.
Never such a
fall. Unspeakable.
For a
century she’s lain
On the
turbid ocean floor,
Where only
memory looms
And silent
graves entomb.
There she
lies: the Great Unsinkable!
